By popular demand, first of my graphics exposing the hypocrisy of modern society. This graphic is an attempt to summarize all the hypocrisy surrounding the issues of Equality.
These are the Equality Scales of modern society, and as you can see, they are not just broken, but they are completely jammed, that mechanism will never turn, because the cogs don't actually allow each other to move, permanently fixing the scales in the same position, with the demanded rights and privileges of the supposedly oppressed outweighing the expected responsibilities and obligations... no, wait, they don't want ANY responsibilities and obligations, so they just simply have fallen off the scale.
Put simply, the Equality Scales are BROKEN.
The background is supposed to symbolize the mess into which the fight for Equal Rights has turned, a complete blur of colors that loose all their beauty and structure.
The Theatric Masks of Comedy and Tragedy became the Political Masks of Struggle:
Comedy turning into the mask of modern hypocritical struggle for imaginary rights to gain privileges, it smiles at the prospect of gaining bonus rights above everyone else.
Tragedy became the mask of past, original, true struggle for actual equality that understood that with rights come responsibilities and obligations and it frowns at how these things are neglected by modern "fighters" for "equality".
The masks also address many more subtle issues related the struggle for equality as well.
It is addressed to the struggle for equal rights by Blacks in the United States, how original struggle has been slowly washed out and in some cases it turned into White Paranoia, seeing everywhere the conspiracy of the "white man" to put them down. Many of the goals and ideals of Martin Luther King are completely forgotten and abandoned in favor of degradation, making a mockery of the fight for equality. This was nicely depicted in the show "Boondocks", episode " Return of the King", where Martin Luther King was completely appalled by the state of the black community and asked: "Is this it? Is this what I got all those asswhoopins for?" (see speech from the episode here [link] ).
On another note: I heard that in some places calling a black person a negro is considered insulting. I find that idiotic because it is about as insulting as calling a white person (Caucasian or whatever exact term you use in the west) white.
It is also addressed to the Womans Rights struggle and Feminism, and I got to say, that these things are NOT the same. Modern feminism is well described by Dr. House from House M.D. in the episode "Dyeing Changes Everything", I'll quote "I dated her. Well, not really dated her, more... metaphorically raped her by having a penis. You did too." Modern feminism is no longer about equal rights for women but steadily became a movement for integration of women in masculinity, because apparently women are not equal to men unless they become masculine and sometimes it even goes as far as to believing that men can't be equal to women unless they are feminized. How in the world did the fight for equal rights and opportunities became a fight for women acting like men? Instead of being feminine, like the name would suggest, feminists struggle to become masculine. It is true that in many ways women are being abused and displayed as sex objects (though you can't really run away from the role nature bestowed on thee), but it is ridiculous to go as far with that idea as completely dismissing dresses (metaphorical implication, though, yeah, in some cases feminists do view dresses as something evil, and I am not even talking about short skirts, I mean plain traditional dresses). In some cases feminists are just women with specific psychological issues, like the Electra Complex going overboard, which would explain the desire to be more masculine than feminine. Or if a girl was mistreated and perhaps even abused in her childhood which bread either a distrust or even hate of men, in these cases women become lesbians. Could be even the more simple issue, like the one my mother once pointed out after seeing pictures of some European leading Feminist activists: plain ugly > couldn't get anything > resentment > possibly turned lesbian > aggressive feminist activist. Original womens rights activists understood the idea of equality being a balance of rights and responsibilities, one such prime example is Susan B. Anthony, who was arrested for voting, but instead of letting the government go easy on her for being a woman she wanted to be treated as anyone who broke the law and sent to jail. I am guessing that if some modern feminists were arrested, they'd blame "the man".
Another issue are Gay Rights and the LGBT movements. I will not address Psychology in this graphic and will possibly make a separate image explaining the deal with various sexuality minorities that LGBT represents and prove how in many cases it is a psychological disorder.
In this graphic I will explain why the very concept of gay rights is idiotic. First off why even call it that? Well originally in some countries there were specific laws against gays and etc limiting their rights by law. So a struggle in this case is understandable, but instead of fighting for EQUAL rights, gays want something completely else called GAY rights, which begs the question: why are YOU so special to have your own set of rights? Because that is exactly what the LGBT is turning the gay rights fight into - it is becoming a fight for none-existent rights that promote followers of LGBT get special treatment. What is even worse is that this movement is promoting LIMITATION of other peoples rights. Both of these issues can be best seen in the US state of Florida, where such concepts as creation of separate bathrooms for transsexuals (what is the point of swaping gender if you want a separate bathroom? Wait, are you the transsexual that decided to keep the "package"? Why?) and bans on saying Mommy or Daddy (apparently it is offensive to the gay community as it implies that a family can only have a male and a female parents) have been considered on the legal level. But it gets better, the LGBT BULLSHIT has traveled to my Motherland - Russia, and tries to set up shop here, thankfully unsuccessful. I will use the situation in my nation around gay rights as a prime example for why the concept is idiotic. Nothing in the Russian Federation laws on any level oppresses gays - NOTHING AT ALL. There is no POINT to fight for "equal rights for gays" if there is no actual limitation to your rights by the law. Which means that LGBT here is fighting either for something that already is in place OR for something else, like special privileges - but that is NOT equality, now is it? By all means, Russian Federation laws show complete equality in this regard, so why do gays complain? What's that you say? Can't get a job? You get attacked by gay-haters? So? USE YOUR CITIZENSHIP RIGHTS. Can't get a job? Go to court and sort it out, the law has nothing against you, so use it. Got attacked? Go the police. But that's not what you want, is it? That is actual WORK. No, you want to be a privileged part of society, you want to wear a big fat sign screaming "I AM GAY" and not get pounded in the face by the few that would actually do that (but seriously, those people will do it even if there will be a law saying "though shalt not punch a gay in the face"). In other words, gay rights is not a fight for equality, it is a fight for being ATTENTION WHORES. Thankfully this concept hasn't developed so much in Russia, because, according to some journalist investigations, many gays and lesbians don't feel there is any problem in Russia in regards to how they are treated and don't attend attempts at Gay Pride parades. Why is that? Simple - they are not attention whores, they don't want to go around screaming that they're gays and etc.
As you can see, the issues are wide and varied, but we can see that the basic truth is that the majority of modern fighters for equality don't know the meaning of the word, as they neglect it's two counterbalancing aspects - Responsibilities and Obligations.
All Rights and no Responsibilities make you one shitty Equal Rights supporter.
Fin.
Bring on the angwy rights activists who hate my evil authoritarian guts!
Equality Scales Broken by *Alexander-Slavros is not displaying a particularly new concept, but one that definitely needs to be heard clearly (read the Artist's Comments to understand what the artist means here, mmkay?).
What's being said is that there is a phenomenon of people piggybacking the Civil Rights movements of old to get a foot up, rather than stand on even ground with their fellow man. The deviation itself says it plainly enough, but the box below gives a more thorough explanation for what is intended in the piece.
A deviation basically being a pretty soapbox for the artist is nothing especially new, but the artist certainly does more than simply make some goofy pretentious "I say x/x people are jerks for y reasons" message, and actually takes a crack at symbolism.
It isn't complicated, which I like, and interpretation isn't a chore because of this. A simple piece that isn't going to have a widely mixed interpretation does more than about 90% of dA's current wave of "activist" deviations.
The message isn't as mean-spirited as some people no doubt already assume from glancing over it and the comments, but this is the difference between having an open mind and just playing at being openminded.
The artist stumbles here and there in the comments and hasn't exactly rooted out all the spelling errors quite yet, but I certainly understand what is meant and I have to say it's not unfounded.
So give the artist a chance and look at this deviation, read through the Artist's Comments box with some care (i.e: don't speedread, scan, or attempt to condense what's being said). After that, comment with these things in mind, and try to do it with some thought put in.
Honestly, I find this whole thing refreshing in that it's not some rage-fueled complaintfest, but rather a calmly put-together, civil series of observations. While the whole thing could use a bit of tweaking so that it's more eyecatching, but I like it all the same.

You know, I knew I shoulda looked it over, but I decided to post without going to that trouble.
Now I look like an illiterate boobie and the psycho fruit basket is gonna latch onto that and paint me as a slobbering retard...

i guess they want their own, if they call it something else, then other's will hitch the ride and want to be lumped in with them. like zoophilies and pro incest.
that isn't "being gay". so if they have a lable they won't be able to have those people associated with them

pitty dA removed your porn, I guess the admins hate love
sorry i reported your policy violations. i didn't know how hard you worked on that stolen art
Reminds me of some girls when I was on highschool who are extremelly feminist and always makes a mess about girls being able to do this an that...
I told them that is girls really want to be equal they should also take responsibilities like making military service an obligation (it isn't here, unless you are man) because being equal is not only about privileges, and also being it an obligation if you a are dude is a sexist move towards men.

If you want to get technical, the term 'negro' can be offensive depending on the context. As in, not if someone says "un hombre negro" (a black man), but if someone uses 'negro' in the context where black could be just as easily and more relevantly used.
Broken down: white and black / negro y blanca = considered acceptable. white and negro = Southern bitterness over a dismantled pseudocultural 'aristocracy' imported from England and France. Chances are, unless someone is talking about the Negro Leagues or "The New Negro", they'd just as readily use the term 'nigger', and not in a friendly sense.
I have a Southern US background and from what I've learned, calling people of African descent "negro" or "of color" was fine, but calling them "black" was effectively insulting. The word most idiot Northern people think Southern Caucasians love saying, "nigger", is a gutter trash term and people who used it with any kind of frequency were seen as uncouth and low-class.
It's the equivalent of thinking British nobility spoke in a Cockney accent or Japanese businessman being versed in otaku culture.

If you want to get technical black people (we only had them as students really) were called Негры Negry, and it wasn't offensive. [link] Check the Russia bit on this issue.

Life is eternal War. And I dress for the occasion.
I know. You mentioned in the entry, "in some places", and I assumed you meant outside of Russia. I gave you a little context as to why "in some places" (as in, specifically, the United States), the term 'negro' isn't considered proper.
Anywhere else in the world, that context doesn't exist, and the term is literally used without any problem. Only exception that comes to mind is Germany, but that's only because of phonetic similarities.
The world is under the delusion that 'tolerance' and 'political correctedness' are the same and interchangeable. They're not. Tolerance is acknowedging another person's rights or opinions and accepting differences as long as they are still subject to law, same as everyone else. Political correctness amounts to an insipid secularistic WHINING used to get attention, money, and the dilution of anything remotely religous. Remember the 'Merry Christmas' debate a ferw years back?
Not really what you were talking about, but I think it's related.
